Good morning my friend,

What's new in your world? Any surprise developments to speak of? Did you watch the Eurovision Song Contest?! I can't say that I paid much attention to it (although my pal Alex was lighting up our community chat with very excited, drink-fuelled commentary!).

It's this kind of stuff that makes the world go 'round. The fun stuff that fills the energy buckets and give us what we need to make things happen when we are on the coalface.

"Making things happen" is the watch-word (are the watched words?) this week. A few small business opportunities surfaced in the last couple of weeks and I'd love to explore them with you. As you read this they are still pending and I will let you know how I get on soon...

These opportunities were not handed to me. At all.

They were not even 'things' when the initial conversations happened; merely comments made in the moment which broke through and dug their claws in. An important thing to note is that I wasn't actively looking for 'new opportunities' but was in tune with what was going on around me enough to notice the glimmer of something valuable, peeping at me from the long grass.

And this, my friend, is where the really good stuff comes from. Almost-literal thin air.

So what steps have I taken?

I stayed interested. I asked myself if I could pull the thread I saw confidently. Did I want to shape this formless thing into something potentially valuable for the long term or did I have the painful symptoms of shiny object syndrome?

I asked for what comes next. Another conversation. A door through which I could walk because it was absolutely me-shaped. I shared what I saw and asked for what I wanted to happen. Not begging or sounding desperate for 'more'. It was a proactive ask to continue forwards.

And carry on I will.

(Anyone else got serious 'Black Parade' vibes right now?!)

As it stands I have work to do. Effort to put in to get this even close to the post let alone past it. A proposal to write and deep attention to pay. It's not a dead cert however I'm confident and open to whatever shape the new 'thing' takes.

And you best know I will be strolling towards it, hand outstretched, with my friendliest smile so as not to scare it off!

Pspspspsps! Here, boy!

Why am I sharing this with you? Because you need to know.

You need to know that you can make stuff happen when it feels like there's nothing there if you are paying attention. If you are in the moment. If you're happy to ask the questions regardless of the answer.

I mean... What's the worst that could happen? Someone says no?

I am off to tread the next steps on this particular path because the getting sure is good.

Go get 'em, tiger!
